Hull City Council - A Case Study

Since 2016, CEMA Lighting has been working alongside Hull City Council and NPS Humber to create bespoke lighting solutions across the city. CEMA Lighting provided an outdoor lighting system for the Ennerdale Cycle Circuit, since then CEMA have progressed to become a preferred supplier for industrial lighting. This flourishing relationship enabled CEMA Lighting to implement Tailored lighting systems for the Ennerdale Leisure Centre, Walton Street Car Park, Stockholm Depot, and Hull Arena.

Cycle track

CEMA Lighting has installed 1km of street lighting for the Cycle track in Kingston Upon Hull.

During the consultation stage, we became aware that the main requirement for the new system would be to illuminate the entire circuit, whilst ensuring each area was safe for the athletes and all spectators had a clear view.

CEMA Installations expertly introduced the new lighting system in one week, erecting over the lighting columns our 70W High Output LED Street Lighting throughout the track.

After the Cycle Track had been completed, we continued to install lighting solutions for the leisure centre, sports hall and swimming pool during 2017 and 2018.

Car park

CEMA Lighting was asked to brighten the Walton Street car park in Hull, home to the annual Hull Fair. Originally, the car park comprised of 1kW floodlights which produced very little light output for the power consumption. CEMA Installations removed these outdated fittings and replaced them with 480W Floodlights, which are ideal for a large, open car park environment.

As a result of the new LED lights installed, the running costs were reduced by over 58% and the security of the area was greatly increased. Lighting of this quality has potentially drawn in more customers for the car park, allowing for further income from Pay and Display.

Hull Arena

In one of our or most recent lighting projects with Hull City Council, CEMA Lighting have designed an energy-efficient lighting system for the Ice Rink; lighted to the Olympic standard of 800lux. By replacing the traditional 400W Metal Halide Highbay with our market-leading LED High Output 200W Highbay, we have aided an annual financial saving of over 61% in running costs. This saving meant the return on investment was under 22 months while producing better quality, whiter, brighter light for visitors to enjoy.
