Tremco Illbruck, Wigan
Tremco Illbruck are a leading European manufacturer who provide high-performance sealing, flooring, bonding, and fire protection materials for the construction industry. After a free LED Lighting Consultation with CEMA Lighting it was evident that Tremco wanted to cut down their carbon emissions to become a greener business whilst reducing their lighting costs.
CEMA Lighting proposed to replace the current traditional lighting system at the site in Wigan, which was extremely costly and inefficient, consuming a high amount of energy relative to a low light output. The original lighting system inside the distribution area was replaced with CEMA Lighting’s 190lm/W Super Lumen Highbay, decreasing the energy consumed in that area by almost 70%.
CEMA Lighting replaced several external MBI Floodlights, which had degraded significantly giving a poor light output, with CEMA Lighting’s High-Output Adjustable Floodlight, greatly increasing the uniformity of light as well as improving security. CEMA Lighting integrated sensors into each system, optimising the daylight harvesting across the board and maximising the effects of natural daylight.
The result of the project was that Tremco were able to cut their running costs down to 23% of the original annual operating cost, the new system will have paid for itself using the energy savings by August 2022. Tremco have successfully achieved all goals to become a greener business as a result of their new lighting system, reducing their carbon emissions by almost 130 Tonnes, as well as their annual lighting energy costs by over 75%.
