As a member of Palletforce, BM Stafford & Sons are one of the best know pallet distribution networks in the UK. Their facility in Hetton-Le-Hole is a new facility that has just been built and is surrounded by over 100 UK sites.

The new building was an empty shell with nothing but basic infrastructures in place, this meant that CEMA Installations needed to install a complete wiring system to light the space. After the wiring was introduced, the team were able to begin with installing the new luminaires, where the magic really happens.

98% of the goods distributed by BM Stafford & Sons are food or medical goods, meaning hygiene and food safety was essential for the system to be integrated into the business. Because of this requirement, CEMA Lighting produced a bespoke solution with an ingress protection rating of IP69K, eliminating any risk of the new system admitting any dust or water. The Food Grade 150w Highbay that was proposed in a free lighting design offered a lumen output of 24,000 which meant that the warehouse is now compliant with CIBSE guidelines and should be for the duration of system’s lifespan.

Having an impressive lighting system has meant that BM Stafford can rent the space at a high rate and pay as little as possible towards the energy bill, allowing for further spending in other areas.
