Saica

Saica Pack were founded in 1943 and manufacture recycled Paper, Cardboard, and flexible packaging solutions. CEMA Lighting have provided bespoke lighting solutions for 2 UK Saica Facilities, Saica Pack in Hartlepool and Saica Flex in Haverhill, both achieving fantastic financial savings with a short-term return on investment of 12 months.

Saica Pack had a variety of different fittings to make the original lighting system, comprised of Sodium, Metal Halide, and Fluorescent luminaires. The varied system meant that the light within each area was uneven with spots of light at different colour temperatures than other areas. Updating the lighting system to energy efficient LED means the building now produces an even spread of consistent lighting and also cutting the energy costs down by 67% when running and maintaining the lighting system.

Saica Flex required a new lighting system for their warehouse space, which was originally made up of 400W Metal Halide Lowbays. CEMA Lighting and their design team were able to provide 73% savings by switching these products to CEMA Lighting’s 150W Super Lumen Highbay producing a market leading 190 lm/w output.

Because being an eco-friendly business is a priority to Saica, being able to reduce their CO2 emissions by over 550 tonnes was just as important as the financial savings. 553 tonnes of CO2 emissions have been saved through making the switch; the equivalent weight of around 85 elephants.
