This business is a multinational player within the aeronautics industry, playing a leading part in the manufacture of turbines and structures for aeronautic engines.

They required a new emergency lighting system, as well as a new general lighting system better tailored to their production area and offices. CEMA Lighting provided a bespoke solution to meet CIBSE guidelines and introduce luminaires that are integrated into the day-to-day function of the business while also cutting down energy costs.

Originally, the production area was lit by 78 of the 320-watt Flobay fittings which were consuming more energy than necessary and were past their lifespan expectancy of around 15,000 hours. CEMA Lighting proposed to swap these for 58 of their signature, market leading 200W Super Lumen Highbays, reducing the number of luminaires in the area by 24, further reducing running costs of the lighting system.

The customer has achieved some fantastic benefits from installing an energy efficient lighting system. The lighting is now high quality with a better CRI allowing for easier reading and colour visibility, and the lux readings are now well within guidelines for health and safety purposes. On top of the visible and physical benefits of the new system, they have achieved a 70% reduction in their energy costs and a return on investment of 14 months, meaning that the lighting system will have paid for itself by October 2020.
