Actavo operates in diverse and demanding markets installing, repairing, and maintaining millions of homes each year. Actavo is committed to high performance and excellence, with bold ambitions and drive.
When addressing their lighting system, Actavo wanted to increase security around the outside of the building by replacing their floodlights and increasing the overall brightness. Initially, Actavo had a combination of 400-watt MBI floodlights and some low output LED floodlights which made up most of the lighting system across the external spaces.
Within the first 6-9 months, those LED floodlights had already deteriorated by around 35% which greatly reduced the lumen output while still consuming the same high volume of power. CEMA Lighting proposed to replace those existing 400W perimeter fittings with a combination of 200W and 480W High output floodlights to control the lumen output in different areas. Increasing the lifespan to approximately 14 years, whilst consuming 60% less energy, meaning the lighting system will still be meeting CIBSE guidelines well after the 8-year warranty period.
After a free consultation with one of CEMA Lighting’s specialists, it was clear that the lighting system inside the facility also needed attention to meet Actavo’s energy goals. The shed inhabited 400W Sodium Highbays hanging from the 16m ceiling. These products consumed a high level of energy with relatively low light output and only have an estimated life expectancy of approximately 10,000 hours, this meant that the original system had to be replaced regularly, resulting in additional costs in access equipment, time, and replacement luminaires. CEMA Lighting’s in-house installations team replaced the traditional Sodium Highbays with their new range of industry-leading LED Luminaires, to improve the colour temperature throughout the space, and reduce energy costs, just as Actavo requested.
