The Challenge
Team Valve & Rotating Services main objectives of the project were to:
- Upgrade to a more efficient & reliable lighting system
- Improve light levels across the factory
- Minimise lighting failures
- Reduce energy consumption in line with their commitment to the ISO 14001 environmental accreditation they hold.
The Solution
After visiting the site our consultant was able to propose a lighting solution that vastly improved the lighting levels across the board. By using CEMA Lighting’s exclusive
Super High-Output IP65 Circular HighBay we were able to increase light levels and maximise energy efficiencies. This 200-watt luminaire has a 200+ lumens per watt efficiency emitting 40,000 lumens, exceeding the 27,000 lumens industry standard. Our HighBays have an anticipated lifespan from 100,000 hours and come with Meanwell drivers & Nichia chips, improving their reliability, quality, and longevity.
Our decorative 120 lumens per watt Halo Panels were installed to illuminate the office areas across the business. Our lighting consultant made this recommendation as an alternative to LED flat panels that show signs of degradation much quicker as chips fail leaving black spots. Halo Panels create an ambient working environment improving wellbeing in the workplace.
The Results
After completing the lighting installation, Team Valve & Rotating Services are now benefiting from brighter workspaces improving safety across the site. Team Valve are now enjoying an annual saving of 71% on lighting energy costs and have reduced their carbon footprint by over 19 tonnes annually – the equivalent of planting 114 trees every year!
